August at Little Miracles Wamberal was a month of big voices and even bigger imaginations.
Karaoke stars, dinosaur scientists and a Book Week for the ages. Here’s how it all unfolded.
Karaoke Day Superstars
The month opened with the Mighty Meteors grabbing the microphones for our very own karaoke day.
The children were very eager to take the stage, showcasing their amazing voices and building their confidence with every song.
They had so much fun, and honestly, the stage presence was impressive. Move over, talent shows.
Volcanoes, Fossils and Very Busy Palaeontologists
Mid-month, the Amazing Asteroids went full Jurassic.
The children have been busy learning about dinosaurs, creating their own volcano and turning their dinosaurs into fossils.
And the wondering hasn’t stopped there: what would happen if we made our own fossils? Stay tuned, because these little scientists are on the case.
Book Week Begins with a Familiar Hat
Then came the main event: Book Week 2026!
Day one saw our LA and RR children arrive so proud of their creative costumes, each inspired by a favourite book. Meanwhile, our educators went all in with a Dr Seuss theme, complete with striped hats and a very blue wig.
The excitement was off the charts. And that was only day one, we wondered, what characters would we see tomorrow?
What Colour Crayon Will We Draw With?
The storytelling continued with a class favourite: ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’.
Gathered together in their costumes, the children dove into the story, then put it to the test with the big question: what colour crayon will we draw with?
Our children love using their creativity through drawing, and judging by the giggles (and the comments from parents), this one was a smash hit.
Meet the Little Voices Inside Your Head
Book Week day two belonged to the emotions.
Our 0-2 educators dressed as the feelings themselves, from joyful to angry to anxious to disgusted, as the littlest learners have been learning lots about emotions.
With LA Island, RR Island and Educator Island all represented, it was a colourful, clever way to help even our tiniest friends put names to their big feelings.
Little Voices, Big Stories
August at Wamberal was all about finding your voice.
The Meteors found theirs at the karaoke mic. The Asteroids found theirs asking big dinosaur questions. And through Book Week, every child found themselves inside a story, whether dressed as a favourite character or learning to name the little voices inside their head.
Stories do that. They give children the words, the confidence and the imagination to be anyone. What a month of storytelling it was.
