Certificate 3 Traineeship

The role of a Trainee Educator in an early childhood setting is a wonderful opportunity to learn hands-on while working toward your Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.

No prior experience in required. Here are a few things you can expect during your training:

  • On-the-Job Learning: You’ll be working directly with children, assisting in daily activities, and supporting other educators in their work. This practical experience is vital for developing the skills you’ll need to support young children’s learning and development.
  • Guidance and Support: As a trainee, you’ll be supported by more experienced educators, including the Lead Educator, Nominated Supervisor, and other team members. They’ll guide you in understanding best practices and how to create a safe, nurturing environment for children.
  • Structured Training: Your training will be completed alongside your Certificate III course through Kool Kids Training College. This structured learning will cover the fundamentals of early childhood education, such as child development, learning frameworks (e.g., the Early Years Learning Framework), and providing a supportive, inclusive learning environment.
  • Building Skills: You’ll develop important skills such as:
    • Understanding child development and individual needs
    • Planning and implementing activities that support learning
    • Communicating with children and families
    • Observing and documenting children’s progress
  • Learning Outcomes: The goal is for you to gain the knowledge and skills needed to provide quality care and education to children. By the end of your 18 month traineeship, you’ll be able to work independently, planning and delivering activities, supporting the emotional and social development of children, and contributing to a positive early learning environment.  You will also receive  your Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care which will allow you to work in Early Childhood settings.

Sarah

Certificate 3 Trainee

During my traineeship I have enjoyed feeling supported by my fellow peers and the Kool Kids (training provider) team during my study. I have enjoyed having time off the floor to complete my study and also gain ‘hands on’ practical training, whilst working the floor.
The benefits of working at Little Miracles include having a fun and rewarding job and also having support in regards to the leadership team and fellow peers and also having opportunities to have a say in the operation of day to day practices.

I’ve been offered the opportunity to further develop my career by completing a diploma traineeship next year, which I am really looking forward to.

Diploma Traineeship

Little Miracles has created an excellent and supportive pathway for you to advance your career in early childhood education!

The combination of hands-on experience, mentorship, and financial support is an amazing way to help you succeed in earning your Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care. Here’s a breakdown of the key benefits of this program:

  1. On-the-Job Training with Real-World Experience
  • Hands-on Learning: You’ll be gaining practical experience while you work, applying the theory you learn in the classroom to real-life scenarios with children. This approach is invaluable in early childhood education, as it allows you to refine your skills while you grow in your role.
  • In-Centre Support: Trainers from Kool Kids Training College will come directly to the centre to provide one-on-one support with your theory work. They’ll also offer practical guidance as they observe you working in the classroom. This ensures that you’re not just learning theory but also being coached in practical application.

  1. Mentorship and Guidance
  • Little Miracles Mentor: You will have a dedicated mentor from Little Miracles who will be there to support you throughout your journey, helping you navigate any challenges and offering advice.
  • Room Leader Support: Your room leader will also be a key source of guidance. As you grow in your role, you’ll have both a mentor and a leader to turn to for advice on how to implement best practices, engage with children, and manage the day-to-day responsibilities of your role.

  1. Earn While You Learn
  • 100% Course Fees Covered: One of the standout features of this program is that your Diploma course fees are fully covered, meaning you won’t need to pay for your studies while you’re working. This makes the Diploma program much more accessible and reduces financial stress.
  • Earning a Salary: Since you’re working as a trainee and gaining practical experience, you’ll be earning a wage as you learn, making it easier to support yourself during your studies.
  1. Government Incentives
  • Financial Incentives: You may be eligible for Government incentives every 6 months as you progress through your course, ranging from $1,250 up to $5,000 over the course of your traineeship. This can significantly reduce the cost of your training and provide additional financial support as you continue your education.
  1. Proven Success
  • Supportive and Successful Approach: Little Miracles’ approach, combining practical experience, mentorship, and financial support, has been proven to be successful. The positive feedback from current and past trainees speaks volumes about how effective this model is in helping people succeed in completing their Diploma and advancing their careers.
  1. New Career Opportunities
  • Career Growth: Completing your Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care will open doors to more senior roles, such Room Assistant, Room Leader, and other leadership positions. It can also lead to greater job stability, higher wages, and more opportunities within the early childhood sector.

This is a great way to advance your education while gaining valuable real-world experience and support. If you have any questions or need more details on specific aspects of the program, feel free to ask!

Diploma Trainee

Learning through hands on experience allows you to directly apply what you are studying in a practical setting and having access to knowledgeable and experienced leaders to provide invaluable guidance and support. The culture of support and care at Little Miracles fosters both personal and professional growth, making it an ideal workplace for anyone passionate about early childhood education.

Whilst studying my certificate 3 and diploma through a traineeship I loved learning from such dedicated and passionate educators.   They  were always willing to share their knowledge and expertise and encouraged me to contribute my own knowledge and experiences, which made me feel valued as part of the team. The positive relationships I formed with my colleagues, children, and families created a sense of community and belonging that made my traineeship incredibly rewarding.

ECT Scholarship

Little Miracles has a long-standing commitment to supporting and training educators to achieve their Certificate 3 and Diploma qualifications.

We are now excited to offer ECT scholarships to successful candidates! Here’s what’s on offer:

Successful applicants will work full-time while studying full-time online through the University of New England (UNE). You’ll typically complete 3 units each trimester, with the goal of finishing your degree in 3 years. If the centre where you work applies for a waiver for you to work as an Early Childhood Teacher (ECT), we’ll pay you at an entry-level ECT rate while you study!

You can qualify for this waiver with just 1 year of experience as a Diploma room leader, or 2 years of experience as a fully qualified diploma educator. And instead of paying the $12,450 course fees yourself and taking on a Course Fee HELP debt, we will cover the cost for you!
