April was full of bright ideas, busy hands and creative play at Little Miracles Tuggerah.
This month, the children enjoyed indoor free play, rainbow painting, room setups, role play and STEAM learning. It was a lovely look at how much learning can happen when children are invited to explore at their own pace.
Switches, Lights, And Clever Little Thinkers
One of April’s highlights was a STEM activity where children explored switches, lights and problem-solving.
The setup invited children to ask questions, test ideas and use their fine motor skills as they worked out how the different switches moved and changed things. It was simple, hands-on and full of “what happens if I try this?” moments.
This kind of play supports children to think carefully, make choices and build confidence as they learn through doing.
Rainbow Painting With AA Pink
The AA Pink little artists had a colourful time creating their own rainbows.
Using cotton tips, paint and lots of bright colours, the children explored mark-making and creativity in a calm, playful way. They were able to choose colours, move their hands with care and watch their own rainbow artwork come to life.
It was a beautiful activity for fine motor skills, colour recognition and self-expression. There were messy fingers, focused faces and plenty of proud little artists.
Shining Stars Purple Ready For A New Week
The Shining Stars Purple room gave families a peek at what was ready for the week ahead.
The space was set up with play areas that encouraged children to step in, explore and choose what interested them. From road play and vehicles to imaginative setups, the room was ready for another week of learning through play.
These thoughtful setups help children feel settled and excited when they arrive. They also give children the freedom to follow their interests and build their own stories as they play.
Shining Stars Silver Explore STEAM
The Shining Stars Silver children also enjoyed a STEAM project filled with curiosity and shared learning.
Gathered around the activity, the children observed, touched, talked and wondered together. It was a great chance to explore science, technology, engineering, art and maths in a way that felt playful and easy to understand.
Activities like this help children build early thinking skills while also learning to take turns, listen to others and share their ideas.

A clear theme across April was curiosity.
