May was full of nature, stories and hands-on discovery at Little Miracles Point Clare.
This month’s update shares what our children have been exploring lately, from planting seeds and crunching leaves to building with duplo and joining in National Simultaneous Storytime.
Growing Seeds In Our Outdoor Garden
The 2 to 5 years outdoor environment was busy with our Growing Project this month.
The children were invited to plant seeds using donated pots, choosing their own pot before adding soil and sprinkling in seeds. They finished by watering their pots and placing them back near the garden.
It was a lovely way to build care, patience and curiosity as the children learned how plants grow over time.
Autumn Leaves And Little Discoveries
The Little Angels spent time outdoors, connecting with each other and exploring the natural environment.
They felt the crunch of autumn leaves, looked closely at the colours around them and listened to bellbirds singing through the trees. Every part of the afternoon gave the children something new to notice, touch, hear and talk about.
It was a calm and curious way to learn through the world around them.
Big Builds With New Duplo
The Amazing Asteroids were very excited to unbox and explore their new duplo.
Using reference cards and lots of imagination, the children built impressive constructions and tested out new ideas. They stacked, matched, planned and created, all while building problem-solving skills through play.
There were plenty of proud moments as each child brought their own design to life.
National Simultaneous Storytime Fun
The Little Angels also joined in National Simultaneous Storytime with Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller.
Before decorating sensory scoopers, the children read the story and explored a matching sensory tray. Throughout the day, they also worked on fine motor skills, social and emotional wellbeing, and moving their learning from one activity into another.
It was a beautiful mix of books, creativity, sensory play and shared joy.
From Tiny Seeds To Big Ideas
May had a lovely theme at Point Clare: growth.
The children planted real seeds, explored autumn changes, built new creations and followed a story into hands-on play. Each moment helped them grow confidence, curiosity and connection in a way that felt natural and fun.
