June brought winter rain to the Central Coast, but nothing could dampen the fun at Little Miracles Tuggerah.
From homemade jumping challenges to a brand-new farmyard, here’s what our rooms have been up to this month.
Jumping into a Challenge of Their Own
Early in June, our Mighty Meteors Pink friends turned the mat into their very own obstacle course.
The children created a challenge of jumping from circle to circle, testing their balance and coordination with every leap.
The best part? The whole idea came from the children themselves. Creativity and gross motor skills, all in one game.
Counting Down to Flying Start
There were big numeracy wins outside too, with chalk numbers scrawled across the ground.
Our older children practised counting and recognising numbers, building real confidence with every answer.
These essential early maths skills are all part of preparing for Flying Start, our school readiness journey. Watch out Kindy, these little mathematicians are on their way.
Painted Hands and New Friendships
Over in Amazing Astroids Pink, the focus was on friendship.
With paint on their hands and giggles all round, the children took turns, chatted with their friends and worked together through the whole activity.
Moments like these do so much for social and emotional development. Teamwork, belonging and a lot of laughter, all before lunchtime.
When It Rains, We Get Messy
Mid-month, the rain rolled in. So the Mighty Meteors rolled up their sleeves.
Rainy day means messy play! The children dived into paint, exploring their creativity and giving their fine motor skills a proper workout.
Blue hands, big grins and plenty of sensory exploring. Honestly, we think they were hoping for more rain.
Down on the Farm in Radiant Rainbows
To finish the month, something exciting arrived in Radiant Rainbows Pink room.
A brand-new ‘In the Farmyard’ interest project, complete with wooden cows, trees and a little farm truck, all set up and ready for tiny farmers to explore.
The children’s interests lead the way here, and this cosy farmyard is set to spark plenty of moos, oinks and wonder in the weeks ahead.
Little Ideas, Big Learning
Looking back at June, one thing stands out: the children were the ones steering the ship.
They invented their own jumping challenge. Their curiosity shaped a whole farmyard project. Even the messy play followed their lead.
That’s what learning through play looks like at Tuggerah. Children’s ideas, taken seriously, turned into growth.
Rain, Hail or Shine, Come Say Hello
