Celebrating Chinese New Year with Lanterns
The children had a wonderful time exploring Chinese New Year through creative and cultural activities.
They made colourful lantern crafts, decorated the outdoor space, and learned about the traditions behind the celebration. The lanterns hanging through the trees created a festive atmosphere that the children were very proud of.
Moments like this help children learn about the wider world while expressing their creativity through hands-on experiences.
Messy Construction Sensory Play
The Shining Stars got stuck into a construction themed sensory tray that quickly turned into a busy building site.
Diggers, trucks, sand, and different textures gave the children plenty to explore. They scooped, dug, and built while using their imagination to create little construction worlds.
Messy play like this supports problem solving, creativity, and teamwork as children work together and share ideas.
Little Helpers and Big Hearts
One of the sweetest moments this month came from the Radiant Rainbows room.
The children have been spending time with younger children at the centre, helping care for them and showing kindness through simple interactions like feeding a baby doll and gentle play.
These “big sibling” moments help build empathy, confidence, and a beautiful sense of community between the different rooms.
Valentine’s Creations for Family
The Mighty Meteors celebrated Valentine’s Day with some heartfelt creativity.
The children painted, collaged, and drew special cards to share with their families. Each piece was full of colour and personality, showing just how much love they wanted to send home.
It was a lovely way to celebrate family connections while encouraging self expression.
