The Sydney Roosters Drop In at Little Miracles Niagara Park

August at Little Miracles Niagara Park had footy stars, snow peas and a witch on a broom.

It was a month of special visitors and big community moments. Here’s how it unfolded.

Passing Practice with the Sydney Roosters

What a wonderful day this was!

We were so lucky to have Billy and Connor come in from the Sydney Roosters to show the children some drills and how to pass the ball. Little hands, big footballs and even bigger smiles.

Each child was then given a Roosters cap and lanyard to take home! Thank you both for taking time out of your busy schedule to visit us. As the centre put it best: GO THE ROOSTERS!

A Yard Designed with Purpose

Ever wondered why the yards are set up the way they are?

This month we took families behind the scenes of the 0-2 yard, where every resource is carefully thought out and placed strategically to support and enhance the children’s wellbeing and skills.

From colourful blocks growing cognitive skills to inviting spaces to explore, the Little Angels and Radiant Rainbows love every corner of it. Nothing here is by accident.

Little Helpers at Lunchtime

Over with the Shining Stars, mealtimes have become a team effort.

The children have loved helping their educators by handing out utensils, preparing for lunch and practising important social skills like sharing and taking turns.

The sweetest part? One of our wonderful families brought in delicious kiwis for everyone to enjoy before lunch. Moments like these encourage healthy eating while giving the children real chances to practise kindness, patience and working together.

Snow Peas and a Plot of Our Own

Late in the month came a very special milestone: the beginning of our garden journey.

The Mighty Meteors met with Max and Alex from Community@17, where the children began work on our very own Little Miracles plot. Together they planted snow peas, learned how to care for the garden and explored plant lifecycles.

Taking turns with the Amazing Asteroids, the children will visit the plot each fortnight to watch their plants grow and keep connecting with our community. Thank you, Community@17, for such a wonderful partnership!

Is There Room on the Broom?

Book Week Day One arrived, and the Shining Stars flew straight into it.

The children jumped into the magical world of Julia Donaldson’s ‘Room on the Broom’, building their own cardboard brooms and mixing magic potions in the sensory tray.

Best of all, they practised sharing, just like the witch and her animal friends. We love seeing our friends and families bring these classic stories to life!

A Community That Shows Up

August at Niagara Park showed just how many hands help raise our little ones.

Footy players showed up with drills and caps. Community@17 showed up with a garden plot. A family showed up with kiwis for everyone. And behind it all, educators quietly showed up every day, designing every corner of every yard with purpose.

That’s what community looks like: everyone bringing what they have. Our children are so lucky to grow up in the middle of it.

The snow peas should be up by then.
